The Most Popular Price Match Stores That You Might Not Know

Isn’t it annoying when you just bought a new headphone at Walmart for $49,99, only to find out that Target has it for $39,99? Don’t let this happen to you! Check out our list of price match stores to make sure that you get the lowest price on everything.

How Does Price Match Work?

Comparing prices when going shopping used to take so much time because you have to go to different places, check the prices, then go back to purchases from the store with the best price. Nowadays, thanks to technology, you can always save money without having to do a lot of legwork.

Price matching will save you both time and money.

Many chain retailers, such as Walmart, Target, JCPenney, etc. offer price-matching policies to help shoppers to save both time and money. Price match means if you find a lower price for the item that you would like to get, show it to the store and they will match it.
However, to save money with price matching, you will need to know the store’s policy along with the rules and exceptions they contain. Keep reading to see what you need to know about price matching at the major chain retailers.

Price Match Policy at Walmart

Walmart will match the price for the identical (same brand, model, size, and color) item that you found online from the selected retailer. The item must be in stock both at Walmart.com and the other retailer’s website at that time. However, Walmart’s price match policy only applied to a specific list of online competitors that were posted on Walmart.com. And if you are shopping at Walmart, they will match their online prices (at Walmart.com) but not with other competitors’ in-store products.

Target’s Price Match Policy

The price match policy at Target is considered more generous than Walmart’s. While Walmart only matches online products, Target allows in-store price matching for many online competitors, for example, Walmart, Amazon, Kohl’s. etc. This means Target’s price match policy covers prices listed in print ads for other local stores (within 25 miles of the Target you are shopping). You can also match prices when shopping at their website Target.com, but you will need to contact their Guest Services to do so.

Price Match Policy at The Home Depot

Better still, The Home Depot claims to match prices for any other retailers, not those on a specific list. However, they still have a few exceptions. For example, The Home Depot doesn’t match prices for third-party sellers or discount sites as well as auction sites or wholesale clubs.

What is Lowe’s Price Match Policy?

Lowe’s basically offers the same policy as The Home Depot. To make it even better, unlike The Home Depot, Lowe’s guarantees a price match for a full 30 days after you purchase your item. Getting a price match at Lowe’s is pretty simple, all you have to do is show the register the ad of the lower price item. The ad can be in any format, including a printout, app, photo, or smartphone display.

Best Buy’s Price Match Policy

Unlike other big retailers like Walmart and Target, Best Buy specializes in electronics. That’s why Best Buy only price matches with other stores that sell electronics as well as five online retailers: Amazon, Crutchfield, Dell.com, HP.com, and TigerDirect. Best Buy also claimed that they will match their online prices at Bestbuy.com with in-store products and vice versa.

What is Kohl’s Price Match Policy?

For every Kohl’s store, they will match a local competitor’s in-store price as well as prices on their website Kohls.com. However, Kohl’s stores do not price match with competitors’ online pricing. There are also a few rules if you want to price match. Such as discounted merchandise as well as prices advertised, by Kohl’s or a competitor, during the holiday season are not eligible.

Does Staples price match?

Among major retailer chains, Staples has a more considerate price match policy than other stores. They have the 110% price match guarantee that makes sure you won’t pay less anywhere else. This means if you find a lower price before buying, show them the ad and they will not only match it for you but also give you a 10% off discount.
