For price considerations, Parcelforce splits the world into 12 zones. To get pricing, just check the area to which you ship and select the delivery service. In the UK, three areas are divided:
Zone 1: England, Highlands & Islands, Wales, and portions of Scotland.
Area 2: Scotland Highlands & Islands
Zone 3: Man Isle of Northern Ireland and Scilly Islands
How To Calculate The Volumetric Weight
Multiply the length x height x width in centimeters and divide the answer by 5000. The volumetric weight is the result.
The actual weight in kg should be compared with the solution. Regardless of the larger amount, the price of the service you seek should be checked in our Price Guide.
Before leaving the country, all shipments are scanned volumetrically. If the reported weight differs from the volumetric weight, the greater amount is billed.

Zonal Surcharges
- For shipments to areas 2 and 3 in the UK, a fee applies.
- By multiplying the contract price agreed to in your zone 2 delivery by 120% (and by 165% (in Zone 3 delivery with the exception of Express48, which is 70%) you may determine your zonal fee subject to the following minimum surcharge.
- There is no extra fee for shipping Zone 1 or Zone 2 or Zone 3 to Zone 1. No extra fee should apply for any parcels shipped from Zone 1 to Scotland on the mainland and Zone 2 Isle of Skye postcodes.
- Express48 large and express24 large deliveries in Zones 2 and 3 shall be subject to a fee of £16.00 or 125 percent (whichever is greater).
